The Royal Academy of Arts' New Expansion
The Royal Academy of Arts’ expansion designed by the renowned architect Sir David Chipperfield RA opens tonight marking its 250th anniversary. It will increase the Academy’s space by 70% and includes six new galleries, two new studios and a new main auditorium. For the first time, visitors will get the opportunity to see the studios of the RA Schools, whilst Burlington House (Piccadilly entrance) and Burlington Gardens (back entrance) are now connected via the new Weston Bridge thus bringing the two-acre campus together for the first time.
